About Us

Borneo Art Play is a performing arts collective from Central Kalimantan focused on work for children, communities, and the environment. We present touring performances and workshops, from public spaces to villages, to create more accessible and meaningful arts experiences for communities.

Why We Exist

We exist to make performing arts more reachable in Central Kalimantan—especially for children and families. Through touring performances and community-based activities, we create spaces for play, learning, and storytelling that grow from local experience.

Our Art

Road Show

Bringing performances to schools, villages, and public spaces so children and families can meet live theatre closer to home.

Children & Family

Creating works that invite shared attention, play, and conversation designed to be enjoyed across ages.

Environment & Local Stories

Exploring forests, wildlife, and everyday realities in Kalimantan through puppet theatre, object theatre, and movement.

Why We Do This ?

We do this because we believe performing arts should be accessible to everyone. Art can be a space for storytelling, expressing concerns, and giving voice to important issues in ways that feel close and meaningful. Through work for children, families, and communities, we aim to create shared spaces for expression and foster care for the environment and the life around us.

How We Work ?

Borneo Art Play works collectively with artists, performers, and communities. Each work begins with simple research, conversations, and direct experience in the spaces where we work. Our process is open and contextual, adapting to the space, audience, and issues explored, so each performance becomes a living and relevant experience.

Borneo Art PlaY Team

We are a small team working collectively to create performing arts works. Each process is carried out together, combining artistic vision, production work, and collaboration with artists and communities.
